The Issue: After the newer field hockey system at Duke University failed numerous quality tests, the year-old field needed replaced. 

The Job: SCG was selected to install a new sub base and AstroTurf12 system to correct the errors of Duke’s preceding contractors.

The Results: “Sports Construction Group made us feel that installing a perfect field was just as important to them as it was to us and, in the end, that’s what we have,” said Beth Bosman, Duke head field hockey coach. Bosman was pleased by SCG’s effort to involve the university in every aspect of the construction process and its dedication to completing the job on time. “SCG was nothing but professional – not self serving, not hard to deal with – they were good team players, which is extremely important on a job like this,” said Joe DiGeronimo, principal for DiGeronimo-Mikula Associates, the project’s partnering engineering consultant. “The owner is satisfied above and beyond expectations,” he stated.
